When Leslie Williams, TFCU member for more than 35 years, came across the annual TFCU “Thankful for You” contest on social media, she thought it would be a nice gesture to nominate her daughter and medical student, Hannah Williams. “She’s a third year medical student and also works and babysits to support herself.” said Leslie.
Hannah, 25, is studying at the University of Oklahoma School of Community Medicine in Tulsa, OK to be a pediatrician. Leslie added, “The past three years have been hard due to COVID. Medical school, by the nature of it, is hard, but she’s handling it great and doing well.”
Leslie’s nomination of her daughter was chosen randomly by TFCU from 568 entrants during the November 2022 contest. Hannah received a $500 gift card and Leslie received a $100 gift card from the credit union. “My daughter had a $1,500 car repair recently, so I’m sure she has bills to catch up on,” Leslie shared.
“There are so many things that are special about having a daughter. She’s my oldest and we have a really special bond and mother/daughter relationship.”
This contest is just one of the many ways Tinker Federal Credit Union gives back to its members all year long.
