In 2007, Cindy Evans was given a 30% chance to live—she was fighting a serious medical condition. From that point on, Cindy had her daughter by her side—helping her find a way forward in life. When TFCU recently asked social media followers who they were thankful for, Cindy knew she needed to nominate Tisha. “She’s been with me through thick and thin,” said Cindy.
Thirteen years later, Cindy has defied the 2007 statistics and is alive and living with her daughter in Edmond. “I take care of her now,” said Tisha. “My mom is a wonderful person and she’s never let me down. I always had everything I needed.”
For participating and winning TFCU’s ‘Thankful for You’ contest, Cindy and Tisha won a total of $400 in Visa gift cards. When asked what they would do with the money they said, “We’ll probably buy some Christmas gifts!”
