TFCU recently awarded Quanisha Gatewood a $5,000 college scholarship. This busy TFCU member has a few plates spinning in her life. She’s mom to three boys—ages two, eight and nine—while majoring in nursing at OCCC. Plus, Quanisha runs her own hair studio and is about to go into the National Guard to help pay for college.
When she found out she won the TFCU Back to Campus scholarship contest Quanisha said, “I literally started crying. I am super thankful because school is expensive. Life is expensive. Having kids is expensive.”
She plans to use part of her scholarship money to pay for a new computer. “I’ve had my current computer for forever and a day,” said Quanisha.
Quanisha’s been a TFCU member since 2016. “It’s been great,” she said. “What I love the most about it is my kids’ accounts. When they go deposit money, they think they’re rich. And they get to pick a prize out of the treasure box.”
She also shared, “I love the TFCU mobile app. I like that you can deposit checks. The fact that all of my stuff is on one screen and I don’t have to swipe too much is great.”
