Allton’s Clothiers: ‘TFCU is there for me when I need them.’
For Steve Allton, success in business has never been just about clothing — it’s about people. As the owner of Allton’s Clothiers in Edmond, Allton has spent 30 years building a store that feels less like retail and more like a place of connection, trust and lasting relationships.
From experience to entrepreneurship
Allton began his career in men’s clothing in 1980, learning the industry for over a decade before taking a leap of faith. In 1995, he and his wife opened their own store — driven by a passion for people and a belief that business could be done differently. “It’s been challenging, exciting and incredibly rewarding,” he says.
A people-first philosophy
Walk into Allton’s, and the difference is immediate. The focus isn’t on quick sales — it’s on relationships. “People are our purpose, clothing is our passion,” Allton says.
Behind the scenes, strong relationships have also fueled growth — including with Tinker Federal Credit Union (TFCU).
“We appreciate TFCU because they’re local, fast and efficient,” Allton says. “Everything runs smoothly, and that allows us to focus on our customers.”

Looking ahead
After three decades, Allton’s Clothiers continues to thrive by staying true to its core values: authenticity, quality and connection.
In an increasingly digital world, Allton’s reminds customers that some things never go out of style — like genuine relationships and the confidence that comes from being your best self.
