Dave Willis Named As New TFCU CEO

For the first time in a quarter century, TFCU has a new president/ CEO. Dave Willis assumed the role on September 1, following the retirement of Michael Kloiber after 33 years with TFCU, the last 25 as president/CEO. “I have every confidence that Dave is the right person at the right time to lead TFCU into a prosperous future,” Kloiber said.

Willis has been the EVP/chief operations officer at TFCU since 2008 and served the past few months as president during his transition to president and chief executive officer. He has 37 years of credit union service, including 24 years at Kitsap Credit Union in Bremerton, WA, where he held multiple positions, including senior vice president/chief operations officer. He is a veteran, having served more than ten years in the US Marine Corps Reserves as a Landing Support Specialist with the 4th Landing Support Battalion.

“The TFCU board is very pleased to have someone with Dave’s experience, skills and talents taking over leadership of the credit union,” said Al Rich, chair of the TFCU board of directors. “We look forward to many years working together to provide even better service to our members.”

In addition to his credit union work experience, Willis is actively involved in the credit union movement locally and nationally. He is chair of the Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation board, serves on the National Association of Federal Credit Unions Political Action Committee and on the Credit Union National Association Consumer Financial Protection Subcommittee. He was named credit union Professional of the Year by the Credit Union Association of Oklahoma in 2013.

“I’m a credit union lifer,” Willis said. “I am excited to begin this next chapter of my career, and I’m certainly honored to be given the opportunity to lead a credit union as dedicated to member service and as well respected as TFCU.”
