Meet Daniel: ‘The TFCU Great Auto Loan Payoff’ Winner of July 2021

TFCU member Daniel Kung never expected to get a phone call saying he’d won something especially not a $16,253.36 payoff on his TFCU truck loan. “It took a good six minutes to convince me that I had won,” said Daniel. “It’s a lot of money. I never win anything. I know that’s what everyone says, but it’s true!”

“My truck is a black 2016 F-150. I had wanted one since I was young,” said Daniel. “I went shopping at the dealership, and they had it. They offered me a bunch of options, and TFCU came back with the lowest rate.”

Daniel lives on the go. “I’ve been moving a lot since college. Having a bigger vehicle helps me do that,” said Daniel. “Currently, I’m working on landscaping my backyard and redoing the patio. We hauled three tons of rocks with my truck. I’m going to do an outdoor fireplace and a pergola next.”

Daniel became a member of Tinker Federal Credit Union when working at Boeing in Oklahoma City in 2018. At the time, many of his coworkers were also TFCU members and had good things to say about the credit union. He’s since moved on to another government contractor position, but he hasn’t moved on from TFCU. His checking and savings accounts are also with the credit union. “I use the app with ease, and I manage my transactions there,” said Daniel.

When Daniel is not working or hauling things in his truck, he enjoys barbecues and vacation road trips with friends and family. “With the money I’ll save, I’ll probably travel more and visit my family in Michigan,” said Daniel. “There are a lot of swimming holes in Texas that we like to hit in the summer. We plan on getting some kayaks with the money saved from the payoff.”

As a not-for-profit credit union, TFCU consistently offers low loan rates and high savings rates. Every year, TFCU also looks for ways to give back more than $100,000 to members each year through the The TFCU Great Member Give Back program. The TFCU Great Auto Loan Payoff promotion is one example of the program. Daniel’s loan was randomly drawn from all eligible TFCU auto loans.
