“Phishing” for Account Information Leads to Fake Web Site
Internet scammers looking for your financial information have a way of luring you to a legitimate looking Web site that may trick you into giving them access to your credit cards, account numbers, passwords and any other personal information. They go “phishing.” They may even try to max out your credit card or drain your checking account.
A recent e-mail phishing scam asks you to confirm your e-mail address with an existing database that way you will receive important announcements from TFCU. The e-mail looks legitimate, and the site they ask you to visit may even look legitimate. It is not.
The scammers are using a site called online-tinkerfcu.org, as opposed to our secure site https://www.tinkerfcu.org.
Tinker Federal Credit Union will never e-mail you to verify information we already have.
If you have received an e-mail and responded to it, please contact TFCU immediately.
