What is Samsung Pay?
Samsung Pay is a mobile payment and digital wallet service that allows users to make payments using a mobile device in place of a physical credit or debit card. The service keeps member payment information private from the merchant and creates a unique “token” for each transaction.
What devices can I use with Samsung Pay?
You can use Samsung Pay with your Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 active, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 active, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 edge+.
My new device has Samsung Pay. How do I set it up?
On compatible devices, a Samsung Pay shortcut will be preloaded, allowing you to download and install the application.
How do I use Samsung Pay?
- Look for the contactless payment symbol.
- Swipe from the bottom of the screen to the top to launch the app.
- If necessary, swipe to the left or right to access the desired card.
- Place your finger on the Home key to verify your identity. If you are using your Samsung Pay PIN, touch PIN and enter your four-digit code.
- Hold your device near the card or NFC reader on the payment terminal.
Note: If the connection is unsuccessful or too much time has elapsed, touch the Refresh icon to retry. You will not be required to verify your identity.
- If necessary, complete the transaction on the payment terminal. For example, if you are using a debit card, you are still required to enter your Personal Identification Number (PIN). Some merchants/terminals may prompt you to verify the total charges are correct, while others will require a signature.
How many payment cards can I add in Samsung Pay?
A total of 10 payment cards can be added to Samsung Pay. There is no limit to the number of gift cards that can be added to Samsung Pay.
Can I use the same payment card with more than one device using Samsung Pay?
Yes. There are no restrictions on adding the same payment card to multiple devices. Gift cards can only be added to one Samsung Pay account.
How do I set my TFCU card as my default card for Samsung Pay?
The last card you used or viewed will be the card defaulted for payment; you can swipe left and right to scroll through your payment cards and select the TFCU card you wish to use.
Does TFCU charge anything to use Samsung Pay?
No. TFCU does not charge a fee for members to use Samsung Pay.
Is Samsung Pay safe and secure for making payments? How am I protected against fraud?
Yes, when you make payments with Samsung Pay and your TFCU card, your full card number is not shown to the merchant or to Samsung Pay and all transactions are monitored by TFCU’s risk and fraud detection systems. In addition, fraudulent purchases made using Samsung Pay are protected by VISA and MasterCard’s Zero Liability policy when the unauthorized transactions are reported promptly.
What if my TFCU card is lost or stolen?
Please call TFCU immediately and mention that you added your TFCU card to Samsung Pay. We will close your card so that no more purchases can be made. You should also remove the lost or stolen card from Samsung Pay. When you receive your replacement card, you will need to add the new card to Samsung Pay before making any Samsung Pay purchases.
What should I do if my mobile device is lost or stolen?
In addition to notifying your mobile carrier, please contact TFCU. We will either temporarily suspend or deactivate your card for use with Samsung Pay.
Your payment information is not accessible without your fingerprint or Samsung Pay PIN. For added security, the Samsung Find My Mobile service can remotely lock or erase your payment cards in Samsung Pay.
If I erase my phone, does that cancel my physical cards or can I continue to use them?
Erasing the information on your mobile device will have no effect on your physical cards. You can continue to use your cards as you normally would. Erasing your mobile device will delete the virtual cards from Samsung Pay. You can add your credit and debit cards back into Samsung Pay at any time.
What should I do when I receive a new, renewed or replacement card?
For any new or replacement cards, you will go through the initial set up of Samsung Pay.
What payment information will be on my receipt?
Receipts should look the same as they always have. However, in some cases, receipts created from digital account usage may display the last four digits of your digital account which may differ from the last four digits of your physical card.
