Don’t Be Taken In By Website Spoofs
Internet thieves set up a legitimate-looking, but counterfeit, website with the goal of tricking victims into giving them access to personal credit card numbers, account numbers, passwords and any other personal information that can help them steal from you. The URL will be similar but slightly different from the legitimate one.
Also, the scammers may send emails randomly, hoping someone will respond. If you ever get an email claiming to be from TFCU and asking you to verify your information by clicking on a link, DON’T DO IT! If in doubt, call our Member Service Center at (405) 732-0324, ext. 2255, or 1-800-456-4828, ext. 2255, and ask. Don’t use a phone number provided in the email.
Be assured, TFCU will NEVER send you an email to verify information we already have. And to ensure you are on TFCU’s secure website, www.TinkerFCU.org, make sure the Web address is preceded by “https://” and there is a closed padlock in the lower right hand corner of your browser.
